The OPAD Mission
Our website is dedicated to advocating for and empowering individuals with disabilities by providing a comprehensive platform for awareness, support, and services. It serves as a hub for raising public understanding of the challenges faced by people with disabilities while celebrating their achievements and contributions. Through a wide range of resources, we connect individuals and families to vital services such as accessible education, employment opportunities, legal support, and healthcare. Additionally, we foster a community where advocacy efforts amplify the voices of people with disabilities, promoting inclusion and equal rights. Our mission is to create a society where everyone is valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.
The PABSS Program provides assistance and advice to Social Security Disability Insurance beneficiaries regarding work-related issues.
The PAIMI Program protects the rights of individuals with eligible mental diagnosis under PAIMI. We advocate for safe, respectful, and effective care- whether in hospitals, community settings, or correctional facilities.
PADD Advocates for individuals with developmental disabilities to ensure they receive services like education, healthcare, and employment support.
The Client Assistance Program (CAP) is a free resource that supports people with disabilities in understanding their rights and getting the help they need from services like Vocational Rehabilitation (VR), independent living programs, and other supports available under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
Helps people with disabilities access assistive technologies (like mobility aids or communications devices) to enhance independence and participation in daily life.

What is "ADA Compliance?"

Fun Fact: This website is ADA Compliant! Check out the ADA Compliant logo on the top right corner!
ADA compliance is short for the Americans with Disabilities Act Standards for Accessible Design. That means that all electronic information and technology—i.e, your website—must be accessible to those with disabilities.
ADA is often confused with Section 508. However, ADA differs in that it’s a civil law that mandates the inclusion of all people, especially those with disabilities, in all areas of public life. That includes the workplace, schools, transportation, and other places open to the general public. So while ADA requires websites and content to be accessible, it has broader guidelines that cover all disabilities and environments.
